We often begin with an idea of where something is going. We choose a direction, take the first step, and try to shape what comes next.
But creation does not always happen exactly as we imagine it. There is a point when what we have begun starts to develop a movement of its own. We can continue to guide it, respond to it, and make choices along the way, while also leaving room for something we could not have planned.
The Unfolding Nest was created from this relationship between intention and allowing. The work began with deliberate choices, but its final expression emerged through a process that could not be completely controlled. Each movement influenced the next, and the composition gradually revealed itself through the making.
Perhaps there is something familiar in that process. We shape our lives through the choices we make, while much of what they become unfolds through encounters, circumstances, and possibilities we could never have known in advance.
